Services
Are You at Risk?
Selling goods or services to the Federal government can be lucrative. But small businesses seldom have
the resources to focus on critical compliance measures required by the Federal Acquisition Regulation
(FAR). As a result, many small businesses are operating with significant compliance risk and could face
suspension, debarment, and even criminal prosecution stemming from mistakes, omissions, or employee
misconduct.
Benefits of Compliance
Many small business view compliance as a cost burden, but the cost of non-compliance far outweighs
that of an effective program. Businesses of all sizes can benefit from developing robust ethics and
compliance policies, and the FAR allows small businesses to implement a scaled-down version of the
programs required for large contractors.
Beyond avoiding federal violations investigations, with a well-defined compliance program and more
efficient practices, small businesses can also reap cost benefits.
